Kings District RCMP charge Greenwood man with sexual offences

Kings District RCMP has charged a Greenwood man with a number of sex related offences as a result of an incident near Greenwood on August 4.

On August 5, 2022, Kings District RCMP received a complaint concerning inappropriate contact that occurred between an 18-year-old man and a male youth in Greenwood. The man was already in custody at the time of the complaint, as he had been found to breaching conditions of his release order in a separate matter.

Austin Charles Whynot, 18, of Greenwood, has been charged with the following:

  • Invitation to Sexual Touching;
  • Sexual Interference;
  • Sexual Assault;
  • Committing an Indecent Act;
  • Failure to Comply with Conditions of a Release Order (2 counts)

Whynot was remanded into custody and will appear in Windsor Provincial Court later today.

The investigation is ongoing.
