Harbour Grace RCMP responds to disturbance, one man charged with numerous offences

Harbour Grace RCMP responded to a disturbance in Victoria on November 19, 2022. Fifty-year-old Brent Jackson was arrested and charged with numerous offences. He remains in custody, to appear in court today.

Police responded to the report of a disturbance at a residence in Victoria at approximately 1:20am on November 19. Officers attempted to arrest Jackson for breaching court ordered conditions. He resisted arrest and assaulted a police officer. He was arrested and transported to the detachment, where he continued to resist officers attempting to detain him.

During his time in custody, Jackson assaulted a police officer for the second time and threatened the life of a police officer. He also caused damage to property.

He attended court today to face the following criminal offences:

  • Assault on a Police Officer (two counts)
  • Resisting Arrest
  • Uttering Threats to Cause Death
  • Mischief – Property Damage under $5000
  • Failure to Comply with Release Order Conditions (five counts)

He was remanded into custody, to appear in court again on November 23, 2022.
