On Thursday, December 1, 2022, Happy Valley-Goose Bay RCMP presented charitable causes in the community with monies raised at the 2022 Friends of the Force Charity Ball, held in November – $14,650 was raised in total, a record amount for the annual event which has been taking place since 2004. Over $70,000 has been raised since 2010 alone!

Attendees at this year's Ball included RCMP Commissioner Brenda Lucki; Assistant Commissioner Jennifer Ebert, Commanding Officer of RCMP NL; Perry Trimper, Lake Melville Member of the House of Assembly; Lieutenant Colonel Guy Parisien, 5 Wing Goose Bay Base Commander; Inspector Kent Kelly of the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary; Ella Wallace, Deputy Mayor, Happy Valley-Goose Bay; and many members of the community.

Beneficiaries this year include the Kids East Smart Program, the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Ronald McDonald House, the Labrador Friendship Centre Food Bank, and the Ministerial Association. Monies were also earmarked for the distribution of Christmas hampers in Happy Valley-Goose Bay and to seniors in Mary's Harbour, led by Constable Caron and Corporal Roach, in collaboration with the Ministerial Association.

Joanne Rodgers, RCMP employee and Coordinator of the event since 2010, along with Staff Sergeant Sandy Goudie, thank all employees and community supporters for making this event a tremendous success again this year.
