Halifax District RCMP charge man with stunting on Hwy. 101

The Halifax District RCMP Traffic Unit has charged a man with stunting on Hwy. 101 in Lower Sackville.

On August 15, at approximately 11:45 p.m., the Halifax District RCMP Traffic Unit was conducting traffic enforcement on Hwy. 101, near Lower Sackville, when they observed a vehicle on radar travelling at 167 km/h in a 100 km/h zone.

RCMP officers completed a traffic stop of the vehicle. The driver, a 19-year-old Lower Sackville man, was charged with Stunting. The charge includes a 7-day driver's license suspension along with a $2,422.50 fine.

The vehicle was seized while the driver and passenger waited for a safe ride to their destination.

Driving at high rates of speed can have life-altering affects in a split second. Reduce serious injuries and fatal collisions by respecting speed limits.
