Gods Lake Narrows RCMP respond to armed and barricaded incident

Firearms seized

On November 15, 2022, at approximately 9:35 pm, RCMP responded to a report of a male uttering threats and in possession of a firearm at a residence in Gods Lake First Nation.

It was reported that there were several adults and children inside the residence.

Officers immediately attended and surrounded the residence. An officer made contact with the victims inside, and they were able to exit the home safely. No one was injured.

Shortly thereafter, the suspect exited the home and was arrested without incident.

Officers seized five firearms and ammunition from the residence.

A 30-year-old male from Gods Lake First Nation is facing charges of:

Uttering Threats x2
Careless Use of a Firearm
Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
Possession of a Firearm when Unauthorized

He was released by the courts on conditions and with an upcoming court date.

Gods Lake Narrows RCMP continue to investigate.
