As part of an investigation into a stolen enclosed utility trailer in Gander, a 44-year-old Glovertown man was arrested on November 7, 2022, for possession of property obtained by crime.

On the morning of November 7, 2022, Gander RCMP received the report of an overnight theft of an enclosed utility trailer that occurred while the trailer was parked at a local furniture store in Gander. The trailer and its contents of approximately $7000.00 worth of furniture were stolen earlier that morning. Surveillance captured at approximately 4:00 a.m. showed a pickup truck attached to the enclosed trailer. The trailer is described as a 2020 dark grey utility trailer (NL plate TKR701).

Later in the evening, the investigation led police to a residence on Main Street North in Glovertown where officers obtained a warrant to search a home. Inside the residence, officers located and seized most of the stolen furniture.

A resident of the home was arrested and was released from custody. He is set to attend court at a later date to face a charge of possession of property obtained by crime over $5000.00.

On November 5, 2022, Glovertown RCMP received the report of a stolen grey Dodge Ram truck (NL plate CPX367), taken while parked overnight at a residence on Main Street South in Glovertown. The theft occurred sometime between 8:00 p.m. on November 4, and 7:30 a.m. on November 5. Officers continue to investigate the possibility that the stolen truck may have been used in the theft of the utility trailer in Gander.

Police continue to search for both the stolen utility trailer and the stolen truck. The investigations are ongoing and further arrests are anticipated.
