Edson RCMP lay stolen property charges following vehicle stop

On May 15, 2022, at approximately 1 a.m., Edson RCMP were conducting proactive patrols in the area of Range Road 200 in Yellowhead County. A traffic stop was conducted with a pickup truck, which was seen leaving an area known for copper wire burning and processing. When RCMP approached the vehicle, they located a large quantity of cut copper wire in the back of the truck.

A 63-year-old individual of Edson, Alta. was arrested and charged with one count of possession of stolen property under $5000 and one charge under the Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis Act.

The 63-year-old individual was released from custody to appear in Edson Provincial Court on June 21, 2022.
