Edson RCMP arrest and charge four for property crimes

On April 28, 2022, at 12:15 p.m., Edson RCMP were patrolling on 13 Ave. in Edson when they located a stolen truck. A traffic stop was initiated and the two occupants in the truck were arrested.

A 27-year-old individual of Alberta Beach, Alta. and a 41-year-old individual of Duffield, Alta. were each charged with the following:

  • Possession of a stolen motor vehicle
  • Possession of property obtained by crime
  • Possession of a controlled substance.

Both individuals were released from custody and are scheduled to appear in Edson Provincial Court on June 21, 2022.

On April 29, 2022, at approximately 3:30 p.m., Edson RCMP were made aware of a vehicle in the Long Lake area, which was displaying a stolen licence plate. RCMP members located the vehicle and arrested the driver, a 42-year-old individual of Edson. The 42-year-old individual was charged with the following:

  • Possession of property obtained by crime

The individual was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Edson Provincial Court on June 21, 2022.

On April 30, 2022, at 3:35 p.m., while on route to an unrelated incident, Edson RCMP observed a male damaging property in the Marlboro area. The male fled the scene. Patrols were made; however, the male was not located. The following day Edson RCMP returned to the area, located the male and arrested him. A 41-year-old individual of Marlboro, Alta. was charged with the following:

  • Mischief under $5,000
  • Uttering threats to damage property (x2)

The individual was held for a hearing and was subsequently released from custody to appear in Edson Provincial Court on May 3, 2022. On May 3, the individual failed to attend court, and currently there is a warrant for the individual's arrest.
