Drayton Valley RCMP recover stolen vehicles and trailers in rural Alberta search warrant

On March 31, 2022, officers of the Drayton Valley RCMP General Investigation Section, with assistance from officers of Drayton Valley RCMP General Duty and the Northern Alberta RCMP Auto Theft Unit, executed a search warrant on a rural property in the hamlet of Violet Grove near Drayton Valley, Alta. As a result of the search, police located and recovered five stolen pickup trucks and two stolen trailers. Police also seized various types of ammunition and an explosive substance.

A 40-year-old male from the Drayton Valley area was arrested and has been charged with the following:

  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000 (x5)
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000 (x2)
  • Tampering with a vehicle identification number
  • Failing to comply with release orders (x4)
  • Possession of a weapon contrary to a prohibition order (x4)
  • Failure to comply with a probation order
  • Possession of Methamphetamine
  • Flight from a police officer (x2)

He has been remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in Drayton Valley Provincial Court on April 19, 2022 at 10:00 a.m.
