Deer Lake RCMP searches for missing elderly salmon fisherman

Search efforts are underway for 80-year-old Clarence Robbins of Deer Lake, who was last seen departing his residence during the afternoon of June 21, 2022.

Shortly before 1:00 a.m. this morning, Deer Lake RCMP received a report indicating Robbins had departed alone in his vehicle on Tuesday afternoon to go salmon fishing near Cormack and had not returned.

His unoccupied vehicle was located on a dirt road near a local salmon fishing area outside of Cormack earlier today.

Ground Searches by Deer Lake Ground Search and Rescue and aerial searches by Government Air Services are continuing.

Anyone having any information on the whereabouts of Clarence Robbins is asked to contact Deer Lake RCMP at 709-635-2173.
