The Codiac Regional RCMP is continuing to partner with 529 Garage, a bicycle theft prevention mobile app, for a second year to help protect bicycle owners in the Dieppe, Moncton and Riverview.
The 529 Garage app provides a simple way for owners to register their bicycle, including serial number and pictures, to help prevent a theft. If a 529 Garage registered bicycle is stolen, its owner can trigger an alert using the mobile app. A notification is sent to all 529 Garage users in the area. If someone sees the bicycle, they can make a report in the app to identify its location.
Cyclists are invited to kick-off the 2022 cycling season at an upcoming free 529 Garage registration event hosted by the Codiac Regional RCMP. At the events, Codiac Regional RCMP members will help cyclists register their bikes and give out free 529 Garage shield stickers. Please bring the bicycle to the event to complete the registration process and make sure to download the 529 Garage application before attending.
