Charges laid after extensive, collaborative investigation into robbery with firearm incident

UPDATE: As a result of continued investigation, on September 29th, 2022, the North Battleford RCMP Detachment and RCMP Gang Task Force arrested 26-year-old Kirklynd Aubichon from North Battleford at a residence in North Battleford, in relation to the September 25, 2022 robbery. A search warrant was subsequently executed at a property in North Battleford by members of North Battleford RCMP General Investigation Section and RCMP Gang Task Force, where evidence in relation to this investigation was located and seized.

Aubichon was remanded to North Battleford Provincial Court with his first appearance on October 3. He will be appearing next on October 5, 2022 at 9:30 a.m. in Saskatoon Provincial Court. He is charged with:

  • Robbery with a firearm Sec. 344 CC
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose Sec. 88 CC
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm Sec 91 CC
  • Possess firearm knowing it's unauthorized Sec 92 CC
  • Carrying a concealed weapon Sec 90 CC
  • Fail to comply with a release condition Sec 145(5)(a) CC x3

Backgrounder

The North Battleford RCMP responded to the report of a robbery shortly before 1:00 p.m. on September 25th. The victim arranged an online sale of property with an unknown male. The suspect changed the location for the exchange at the last moment to the area of 108th Street and 9th Avenue in North Battleford. When the victim arrived, he was approached by a lone male with a firearm, who stole a cell phone and cash from the victim before fleeing. The victim was not physically injured.
