Bay St. George RCMP arrests man for assault with a weapon and break and enter

Following the report of a residential disturbance on September 10, 2022, 42-year-old Jerome Skinner was arrested by Bay St. George RCMP and faces a number of criminal charges.

Shortly before 3:00 a.m. on Saturday, police received a report that Skinner, who was armed with a knife, was attempting to break out the windows of a residence in Stephenville. Officers arrived at the home and located Skinner on the property. He had allegedly assaulted an occupant inside the home prior to police arrival. The individual received minor injuries that did not require medical attention.

Skinner was arrested without further incident, attended court and was remanded into custody until his next court appearance of October 6, 2022. He is charged with assault with a weapon, break and enter and failure to comply with a release order.

The investigation is continuing.
