27-year-old man dies following single-vehicle crash

A 27-year-old man from King's County, PEI, has died following a single-vehicle crash in Murray River.

On June 27, 2022 at approximately 7:20 a.m., members of the King's District RCMP, Murray River Fire Department, and Island EMS responded to a single-vehicle crash on Route 4 in Murray River.

The crash is believed to have occurred when the driver lost control of the vehicle, left the road, and rolled over.

The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle died at the scene as a result of his injuries.

An RCMP collision reconstructionist and a member of the PEI Coroner's office are assisting with the ongoing investigation. Route 4 was closed for approximately 5 hours and has since been re-opened. Members of the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure assisted at the scene.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation and an autopsy will be scheduled to determine the man's exact cause of death.
