UPDATE: RCMP arrest suspect in relation to suspicious death in New Haven

The RCMP Northeast Nova Major Crime Unit with assistance from the Victoria County District RCMP is now investigating the death of a 77-year-old New Haven man as a homicide. RCMP members have arrested a suspect who remains in custody.

At approximately 9:05 p.m. yesterday evening, Ingonish Beach RCMP responded to a report of a sudden death at a residence on New Haven Rd. in New Haven. The RCMP are currently investigating the death as a homicide and arrested a suspect earlier this afternoon.

The investigation is continuing and charges are anticipated. Further information will be released as it becomes available.

The investigation is being supported by the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner's Office, RCMP Forensic Identification Services and Victoria County District RCMP.
