Two men charged after armed robbery in Yarmouth

Yarmouth Town RCMP have charged two men, ages 20 and 24, with armed robbery following a robbery at a Yarmouth business.

Last night at approximately 9:50 p.m., Yarmouth Town RCMP responded to an armed robbery at a business on Starrs Road in Yarmouth. Two masked men entered the store, and one of the males brandished a knife. The suspects ordered the clerk to turn over cigarettes and cash. The men then fled on foot. The incident was recorded on the video surveillance system.

An immediate patrol was made. RCMP located and arrested both suspects without incident. Evidence related to the armed robbery was seized.

James David Douglas Vaughn, 24, of Yarmouth has been charged with Armed Robbery, Wearing a Disguise with Intent, Possession of a Weapon and Breach of an Undertaking.

Jordan Lee David Joseph, 20, of Bear River has been charged with Armed Robbery, Wearing a Disguise with Intent, Possession of a Weapon, Breach of an Undertaking and Breach of a Release Order (x2).

Vaughn and Lee remain in police custody and will be taken before the court today.

The investigation is ongoing.
