Two individuals arrested following bank robbery

A man and a woman have been arrested following a bank robbery in Campbellton, N.B.

On September 7, 2021, at approximately 4:25 p.m., members of the Campbellton RCMP responded to a report of a robbery at the Royal Bank of Canada on Roseberry Street. A man entered the business and demanded money from a teller, stating he was armed. The man left the scene with an undisclosed amount of money. Nobody was injured during the incident.

At 5:40 p.m., police located a 27-year-old man and 18-year-old woman, both from Ontario, near Hillside Street. They were both arrested in connection with the robbery. The RCMP Police Dog Services assisted in apprehending the two individuals. Police also recovered the stolen money.

The 27-year-old man was found to be in violation of parole and was returned to the custody of Correctional Service of Canada.. The 18-year-old woman was released on conditions pending a future court appearance.

The Northeast Crime Reduction Unit is assisting with the ongoing investigation.
