Selkirk RCMP respond to theft in progress

In the early afternoon of February 8, 2021, officers from Selkirk RCMP received a report of a theft in progress at a residence located in Belair.

The caller advised that a SUV was currently on their property and had just loaded their snowmobile onto a trailer and was pulling away with it. The homeowner provided a description of the suspect vehicle, which led officers to an address in Hillside Beach.

Officers arrived at the residence in Hillside Beach and observed a trailer in the driveway with fresh snowmobile tracks going from the trailer into the garage. Three suspects were arrested on scene for Possession of Stolen Property and taken into custody. A search warrant was prepared and executed where officers located the stolen snowmobile as well as another snowmobile that had its VIN number tampered with. A further search of the garage located additional stolen property, including ATV's and various power tools.

The following individuals were arrested with the two males remanded into custody and the 37-year-old female released for court scheduled March 26, 2021, in Selkirk.

  1. Eric Wesley Allan, 32-years of age from Hillside Beach
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5000 x 2
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5000 x 2
  • Possession of Property with Altered VIN
  • Fail to Comply with a Release Order
  1. Lee Brandon Stewart, 30-years of age from Winnipeg
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5000 x 2
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5000
  • Fail to Comply with a Release Order
  • Fail to Comply with an Undertaking
  1. A 37-year-old female, from Winnipeg, was released for court on March 26 in Selkirk.
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5000 x2
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5000
  • Possession of Property with Altered VIN
  • Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
  • Possession of a Prohibited Weapon
