In late April, Red Deer RCMP's General Investigation Section (GIS) began investigating a property in the Riverside Meadows neighbourhood. A search warrant was obtained and executed May 21, 2021 for the residence, where a large amount of illicit drugs, weapons and stolen property were found.
Inside the residence, members of GIS located and seized:
- 475 grams of marihuana
- 27 grams of cocaine
- 29 grams of DMT
- 5 grams of fentanyl
- 167 grams of MDMA
- 773 grams of Methamphetamine
- 1979 grams of Psilocybin
- 19 litres of GHB
- 1 semi automatic prohibited shotgun
- A significant amount of Canadian currency
- Also located in a garage on the property were two stolen all-terrain vehicles:
- A stolen 2020 Can Am Outlander quad
- A stolen Konker motorcycle
Four individuals have been charged in conjunction with the investigation.
A 41-year-old male of Red Deer and a 37-year-old female of Red Deer each face eight charges, including:
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking (x5)
- Possession of property over $5000 (x2)
- Possession of stolen property
A 51-year-old male and a 22-year-old female of Red Deer each face five charges, including:
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking (x3)
- Careless use/storage of a firearm
- Possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition
All four are scheduled to appear at Red Deer Provincial Court on July 15, 2021.
