Update: RCMP seeking public’s assistance following hit and run collision with a pedestrian

Update: June 24 , 3:51 p.m. - An individual has been arrested in relation to the incident. The woman remains in hospital with life-threatening injuries. The investigation is ongoing.

The Codiac Regional RCMP is asking for the public's help to identify the driver of a car involved in a hit and run collision with a pedestrian.

On June 23, 2021, at approximately 11:10 p.m., RCMP responded to a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle on Mountain Road near Walsh Street. The vehicle fled the scene before police arrived. The pedestrian, a 22-year-old woman, was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The vehicle is described as a black, four-door sedan. It was last seen traveling westbound on Mountain Road from Walsh Street.

Anyone who witnessed the accident, or who was in the area of Mountain Road and Walsh Street at the time of the accident, or who has information about the vehicle or driver involved, is asked to contact police at 506-857-2400. RCMP would also like to speak to anyone who has video footage in the area. The investigation is ongoing.
