Interested in a career in policing with the RCMP? Plan on attending one of two events in Whitehorse, Yukon Territory, on Friday, September 24, 2021, to learn more about the job.
At 10:00 am, proactive recruiters from the RCMP will hold a career presentation at the Kwanlin Dün Cultural Centre. This presentation offers the chance to hear first-hand about the exciting career opportunity that awaits you. People who attend will also learn details of the recruiting process, including the requirements and expectations when applying and how to prepare for each stage. This presentation generally takes about an hour. The Kwanlin Dün Cultural Centre is located at 1141 Front Street, Whitehorse, Yukon Territory.
If you are unable to attend this event, police officers with the Whitehorse RCMP and recruiters will be available from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm outside of the Whitehorse Detachment at 4100 4th Avenue. Here you can chat with police officers an in-formal setting, ask questions, or pick up a brochure and an info card.
"We are looking forward to talking with people who are interested in policing and the RCMP," says community policing officer Cst. Carlie McCann. "We all have different stories about why we joined the RCMP and our career highlights. RCMP officers will be happy to share information and answer questions from the community."
Pre-registration is required for the presentation at 10:00 am. Anyone interested can find more information here or email lmd_proactive_recruiting@rcmp-grc.gc.ca. No registration is needed to attend the drop-in at the Whitehorse Detachment in the afternoon. Media outlets interested in speaking with an officer about these events are encouraged to contact Cst. McCann at the Whitehorse RCMP detachment.
