PUBLIC ADVISORY: RCMP NL advises that concerns about the vaccination passport are not police matters

November 4, 2021
St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador

News release

RCMP NL has received and considered complaints from individuals alleging extortion and human rights violations against elected officials and others in relation to the vaccine passport implemented by the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador. In all cases, no information provided to police would warrant a criminal investigation.

The public is advised that such concerns are not a matter for police and could needlessly tie up law enforcement resources. The RCMP encourages anyone with concerns about the vaccine passport or other public health matters to contact their appropriate elected representatives or government department.
