Employees of the New Brunswick RCMP have started getting their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, as part of vaccination clinics being held throughout the province for first responders and employees of first responder agencies.
Sgt. Peter Stubbs, of the St. Stephen detachment, received his vaccination at a clinic in St. Stephen today.
"I'm grateful to have the opportunity to get the vaccine at this time, and was happy to book my appointment as soon as the registration for these clinics opened," says Sgt. Stubbs. "I see it as one of the best and simplest things I can do to help ensure everyone's health and safety, and get us back to normal as soon as possible. I hope that everyone takes advantage of the first opportunity they have to get the vaccine."
RCMP employees who get their first dose as part of the first responder clinics will get their second shot within 14 to 16 weeks.
While voluntary, the New Brunswick RCMP has encouraged as many employees as possible to get the first vaccine available to them.
