Dauphin RCMP investigate shooting

On June 16, 2021, Dauphin RCMP were made aware that a male had been seen with a firearm and had shot at another male. Officers began an investigation with the limited information they had, and on June 22, they were able to locate the victim, a 22-year-old male who had arrived home on the evening of June 4, 2021, with a gunshot wound to the hand. The matter was not reported to police and the male did not attend to the hospital.

Investigators located the suspect Jericho Flatfoot, 24, from Mineegoziibe (Pine Creek First Nation). He was arrested on June 26, 2021, and charged with numerous firearms offences, Assault with a Weapon, and Aggravated Assault. Flatfoot has been remanded in custody.

The firearm has not been recovered. The investigation continues.
