Carmanville resident faces charges of flight from police and other offences

This car that fled from police on April 19, 2021, was seized and impounded on May 7, 2021.

A Carmanville resident, 19-year-old Aaron Russell, is facing multiple charges after fleeing from an RCMP officer during a traffic stop in Carmanville on April 19, 2021.

Following a police investigation, Russell was arrested on May 7 for fleeing from police on April 19 and is charged with the Criminal Code offences of Flight from a Peace Officer and Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle. He was also issued a summary offence ticket for driving more than 51 kilometres over the speed limit.

He was released from custody and is set to appear in court at a later date.
