On December 18, 2021, the victim died in hospital as a result of his injuries.

Donny Robillard has been charged with one count, manslaughter without firearm, Section 236(b), Criminal Code in relation to the death of 48-year-old Marvin Bigeye of Black Lake Denesuline First Nation.

He has been arrested on this charge and remanded into custody until his next court appearance in La Ronge Provincial Court on February 2, 2022 at 9:30 a.m.

Black Lake RCMP: male charged with aggravated assault, assault with weapon

2021-12-15

On December 11, 2021 at approximately 11 p.m., Black Lake RCMP received a report of an assault on Black Lake First Nation.

Officers located an injured adult man on a road in the community. He was transported to hospital with what are described as serious injuries.

Approximately four hours later, officers located and arrested an adult male in relation to this incident.

As a result of investigation, Donny Robillard of Black Lake First Nation has been charged with:

  • 1 count, aggravated assault, Section 268(2), Criminal Code
  • 1 count, assault with weapon, Section 267(a), Criminal Code

Robillard will appear in court in Black Lake on March 1, 2022.
