News release

On November 12, 2020, the St. Albert RCMP Crime Reduction Unit (CRU) arrested a 41-year-old male of St. Albert on numerous outstanding warrants related to Fraud, Identify Theft and Flight from Police. The 41-year-old male was actively avoiding his apprehension by the police for his outstanding warrants and he is known as prolific property crime offender.

St. Albert RCMP CRU was able to located and arrest the 41-year-old male without incident. At the time of his arrest, he was in possession of methamphetamine and stolen identification, which was taken from an unlocked vehicle in St. Albert the day prior to his arrest and was used in fraudulent transactions.

Along with his outstanding warrants, the 41-year-old male was charged with the following:

  • Possession of Stolen Property
  • Fraud
  • Fraudulent use of Credit Card
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance

Following a Judicial Hearing, he was released from custody and will appear in St. Albert Provincial Court on Dec. 7, 2020.

St. Albert RCMP have completed several fraud and identify theft investigations in recent weeks. A common trend in these investigations is that the suspect(s) steal identification from unlocked vehicles. The St. Albert RCMP want to remind citizens to remove valuables and lock their vehicles as part of the "Lock It Up" #9PM Routine project, which was launched in St. Albert over a year ago.

Anyone who has information on any crime is asked to contact the St. Albert RCMP Detachment at 780-458-7700 or their local police.
