La Ronge/Stanley Mission RCMP: Firearm call

On June 7th, 2020, Stanley Mission RCMP received several 911 calls from Grandmother's Bay, reporting an intoxicated male allegedly pointing a firearm at several individuals. Members from Stanley Mission and La Ronge Detachments attended.

Upon arrival at the scene, officers searched the area where the individual was last seen and located him in a nearby residence. He was arrested without incident.

18-year-old Pacey Mckenzie of Grandmother's Bay, SK, is charged with:

  • Pointing a Firearm, Sec. 87(2) of the Criminal Code (5 Counts);
  • Uttering Threats, Sec. 264.1(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (5 Counts);
  • Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose, Sec. 88(2) of the Criminal Code;
  • Careless Use of a Firearm, Sec. 86(1) of the Criminal Code.

Mckenzie was held in custody for court in Stanley Mission on June 9th, 2020. He was released from custody on a release order including several conditions and is scheduled to make his next court appearance in Stanley Mission August 11th, 2020.
