On March 3, 2020 at approximately 2:15 p.m., while conducting patrols, the Rocky Mountain House Crime Reduction Unit (CRU) observed a vehicle being driven by a female who was wanted on a warrant.
Police initiated a traffic stop, and the vehicle pulled into a driveway. The vehicle was not registered and did not have the correct plate on it. The female was arrested without incident for her outstanding warrant. Three vacuumed sealed packages believed to be cocaine and money were located in the vehicle.
A 25-year-old female of Rocky Mountain House was charged with six Criminal Code offences and four offences under the Traffic Safety Act (TSA), which include:
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000
- Fail to comply with a release order (x4)
- Operate a motor vehicle without a licence
- Operate a motor vehicle without registration
- Drive uninsured vehicle
- Display an unauthorized licence plate
She was held in custody and is scheduled to appear today in Rocky Mountain House provincial court.
