On the evening of July 1, 2020, RCMP Traffic Services and members of RCMP Holyrood Detachment responded to a three-vehicle collision on Route 60 near Holyrood.
A vehicle which is believed to have been travelling at a high rate of speed lost control on a sharp curve and struck two oncoming vehicles. The driver of one of the vehicles was transported to hospital with what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the vehicle which caused the collision was arrested on scene by the RCMP for suspected impaired driving by a drug. The 34-year-old Colliers man was brought back to the Detachment where he submitted to a Drug Influence Evaluation. Pending toxicological analysis, a charge of impaired driving by drug is expected to be laid.
The driver is also being investigated for dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and for operating a motor vehicle without insurance. His license has been suspended and the investigation is ongoing.
