News release

The New Brunswick RCMP will proactively release more information about its police work, starting this week.

As of today, the New Brunswick RCMP will publish a monthly crime statistics dashboard on its website. This will include year-to-date data about calls for service such as crimes against persons, property crime, drug offences and traffic offences.

In addition, the RCMP will publish a daily occurrence report with short descriptions of some of the calls RCMP members respond to, as well as the total number of calls for service and the different priority levels.

"We know people care about the work police are doing in their communities," says Cst. Isabelle Beaulieu of the New Brunswick RCMP. "Together, these tools provide a good picture of what's happening in the areas we police."

The crime statistics dashboard and the daily occurrence report are a reflection of the New Brunswick RCMP's commitment to accountability and transparency to its communities.

"We want New Brunswickers to know more about the hard work our members are doing everyday across the province," says Beaulieu. "We welcome this opportunity to share more information about our work directly with the people we serve."

The crime statistics dashboard will be published monthly. The daily occurrence report will be published, Monday to Friday, subject to operational demands. Weekend and holiday reports will be published the following business day.
