The driver of a dual-sport motorcycle has been charged under the Highway Traffic Act for operating a motorcycle with no licence or insurance on August 12, 2020. Together, the charges carry minimum fines in excess of $2700.00.
At approximately 3:15 p.m., RCMP Traffic Services West were on patrol in the town of Deer Lake. Police observed a motorcycle being driven in an uncontrolled manner on Nicholsvile Road and initiated a traffic stop. The driver, a 19-year old Deer Lake man, was charged and the motorcycle was seized and impounded. In addition to the fines, the driver will be on the hook for the towing and impound fees.
