Moose Jaw RCMP recover stolen property and firearms from residence in Caronport

On May 22, 2020, Moose Jaw RCMP received a report of a break-and-enter and theft of a vehicle and dirt bikes from a residence located southwest of Moose Jaw.

An advisory was issued on the RCMP Saskatchewan Crime Watch Network at approximately 2:30p.m. and within 30 minutes, the Moose Jaw RCMP Detachment received information from a member of the public that the stolen vehicle was at a residence in Caronport.

Upon arrival at the residence, officers were able to confirm the stolen truck and dirt bikes were the ones reported through the RCMP Saskatchewan Crime Watch Advisory Network. An adult male and adult female were arrested at the scene.

A search of the stolen truck resulted in officers locating a .22 semi automatic rifle, a pellet pistol, mace, and a quantity of methamphetamine.

A search of the property was completed and officers recovered two more stolen dirt bikes, along with ammunition and a compound bow in the residence. The recovered property was returned to the owners.

  • Sec 351(1) CC - Possession of break in instruments
  • Sec 88(2) CC - Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose
  • Sec 91(3) CC - Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Sec 94(2) CC - Possession of a firearm in a vehicle

Seth Larson of Caronport, has been charged with:

  • Sec 354(1)(a) CC - Possession of stolen property x 2
  • Sec 351(1) CC - Possession of break in instruments
  • Sec 88(2) CC - Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose
  • Sec 91(3) CC - Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Sec 94(2) CC - Possession of a firearm in a vehicle
  • Sec 733.1(1) CC - Breach of probation x 2

Jenna Lyle of Moose Jaw has been charged with:

  • Sec 4(1) CDSA - Possession of methamphetamine

Seth Larson is scheduled to make his first appearance in court at the Moose Jaw Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m. on July 8, 2020.

Jenna Lyle and Peter Cox are scheduled make their first appearance in court at the Moose Jaw Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m. on August 5, 2020.

The investigation is still ongoing.

"People are the eyes and ears of a community," said Acting Moose Jaw Detachment Commander, Cpl. Boutilier. "This investigation began as a report of a stolen vehicle. It was the vigilance of a community member, informed by the RCMP Saskatchewan Crime Watch Advisory Network app, that resulted in a tip and successful outcome to our investigation."
