A 38-year-old man from St. Stephen, N.B., has been arrested following a theft investigation that also resulted in a seizure of drugs.

On January 16, the St. Stephen RCMP received a report of a stolen television from a business on King Street. Police were able to identity a suspect from video surveillance at the store.

On March 31, 2020, around 8:45 p.m., members of the St. Stephen RCMP identified a man walking along King Street as being the suspect from the theft investigation. He was arrested at the scene.

During the search of the individual, police seized a quantity of what is believed to be crystal methamphetamine, dilaudid, heroin and other prescription drugs. A cellphone was also seized.

The 38-year-old man from St. Stephen was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Saint John Provincial Court at a later date. He is anticipated to face charges related to the theft incident and the drugs that were seized.
