Fort Vermilion RCMP lay charges after hit and run

One man and one women are facing several charges after RCMP located the drivers of a single vehicle collision with a pedestrian involved in a hit and run.

On Feb. 23, 2020 at approximately 6 a.m., Fort Vermilion RCMP members received a report of a male lying in the parking lot of the Tall Cree Gas Station requesting medical assistance. Emergency Medical Services attended and located a severely injured male who had appeared to have been ran over by a vehicle.

A 22-year-old male of La Crete has been charged with the following:

  • Aggravated Assault
  • Dangerous Operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm
  • Failure to stop after an accident resulting in bodily harm

A 26-year-old female of Fort Vermilion has been charged with the following:

  • Aggravated Assault
  • Dangerous Operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm
  • Failure to stop after an accident resulting in bodily harm

Both are to appear next in Fort Vermilion provincial court on May 19, 2020.
