On May 1, 2020, while investigating information related to drug trafficking, members of the Fort Saskatchewan Traffic/Crime Reduction Unit executed a Search Warrant at a local Fort Saskatchewan residence.
As a result, RCMP seized over 25 grams of Methamphetamine, and quantities of Fentanyl, Cocaine and individually packaged bags of Cannabis. Also seized were digital scales, packaging, counterfeit currency, identity documents, and Canadian currency, suspected as being proceeds of crime. Bear spray, a stun baton, edged weapons, an imitation firearm, and ammunition were also located and seized.
All three individuals have been charged with offences under the Criminal Code and Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, some of which include the following:
A 30-year-old male of Fort Saskatchewan was charged with:
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking x2
- Possession of a Controlled Substance
- Possession of Proceeds of Crime
- Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose x4
- Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Weapon
A 29-year-old male of Fort Saskatchewan was charged with:
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking x2
- Possession of a Controlled Substance
- Possession of Proceeds of Crime
- Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
A 39-year-old male of Fort Saskatchewan was charged with:
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking x2
- Possession of Proceeds of Crime
- Possession of Identity Documents
- Possession of Counterfeit Currency
The 30-year-old male, the 29-year-old male and the 39-year-old male were released from custody on conditions and are set to appear in Fort Saskatchewan provincial court on August 6, 2020.
