At approximately 5:00 p.m. on December 30, 2019, Cartwright RCMP conducted a traffic stop with a suspected impaired driver.
The driver, a 42-year-old man from Happy Valley-Goose Bay, was arrested for impaired driving. He was brought back to the detachment where he provided breath samples that were more than twice the legal limit.
The man was charged with impaired driving and his driver's licence was suspended. He was released from custody and will appear in court at a later date.
