Carman RCMP respond to drowning on Boyne River

On November 7, 2020, at 1:45 pm, Carman RCMP received a report of a possible drowning on the Boyne River, located on a rural property off of Provincial Road 245, in the RM of Dufferin.

It was reported that a 75-year-old male was believed to have accidentally fallen into the river behind his home.

Officers arrived on scene within minutes and were advised that the Carman Fire Department had just removed the male from the water. Medical assistance was provided but the male was pronounced deceased on scene.

Carman RCMP along with the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner continue to investigate.
