Burin Peninsula is investigating the report of a possible child luring incident that happened on September 20, 2020, in the area of Bull Cove in Burin.
On September 22, 2020, police were informed of the incident. A young boy was walking along Harbour Drive when a car slowed down and a man asked the boy if he wanted a ride. The boy did not respond and kept walking. The vehicle continued driving down the road, turned around and headed back in the direction of the youth. The boy ran into the driveway of a family member and no further contact was made.
The vehicle is described as an older model red Chevrolet car. Police are unsure of the intent of the driver but caution the public to keep an eye out for a vehicle matching this description and to report any suspicious activity.
The investigation is continuing and Burin Peninsula RCMP looks to identify the driver to speak to him about this incident.
