The RCMP Major Crimes Unit has been deployed to take carriage of a suspicious death, which was reported on Sept. 19, 2020.
At 5:18 a.m. on Sept. 19, the Athabasca RCMP responded to a call for assistance at a residence in relation to an injured male. EMS responded with the RCMP and the 29-year-old male was declared deceased on scene.
Supporting units including the Forensic Identification Section attended the residence to conduct an investigation. An autopsy has been scheduled for Sept. 24 at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Edmonton.
