26-year-old man victim of homicide

The New Brunswick RCMP's Major Crime Unit is investigating the death of a 26-year-old man from Waterborough, N.B., as a homicide.

On May 3, 2020, shortly before 9:45 p.m., members of the West District RCMP responded to a 911 call at a home on Highway 102 in Upper Gagetown for a report of a firearms incident. A woman who had been in the home reported being assaulted. The woman was able to leave the home and was taken to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

In the early morning hours of May 4, police were able to gain entry into the residence. They discovered the body of a 26-year-old man who was a victim of a homicide. Police also found the body of a 53-year-old man from Upper Gagetown. Criminality is not suspected in his death. A firearm was seized from the scene.

Autopsies are being conducted. The investigation into the deaths is ongoing.
