Earlier today the Yukon RCMP was alerted to incorrect information circulating on social media, which alleges that police confirmed there had been a large number of reported sexual assaults within the City of Whitehorse over a short period of time. We would like to assure the community that this information is not correct and should we note an increasing trend in any crime, we would ensure the community was alerted. Public safety is always our primary focus.
