On the evening of May 24, 2019, RCMP, along with the assistance of the Winnipeg Police Service Tactical Support Team, arrested Laurent Beaulieu, 18, at a residence in Winnipeg in relation to the death of a 22-year-old male from Langruth, Manitoba on May 20, 2019. A 17 year-old female was also arrested at the scene.
Laurent Beaulieu of Portage la Prairie has been charged with Second Degree Murder and is scheduled to appear in court today. The 17-year-old female from Long Plain First Nation has been charged with Accessory After the Fact to Murder and appeared in court on May 26, 2019.

On May 20, 2019, a 22-year-old male from Langruth, Manitoba, was shot and taken to hospital. Later that day, he succumbed to his injuries.
The investigation has determined the death to be a homicide.
18-year-old Laurent Beaulieu is wanted for Second Degree Murder. He may be in Portage La Prairie or the surrounding area. He is considered armed and dangerous.

On May 20, 2019, at approximately 4:35 am, RCMP responded to a shooting at a residence on 1st Street NW in Portage La Prairie.
A 22-year-old male from Langruth, Manitoba, was shot inside the residence and is currently in hospital with life threatening injuries.
