News release

Around 10:00 p.m. on February 3, 2019, Clarenville RCMP, along with the Clarenville Fire Department, responded to a major structure fire at the Wave Hotel and Fitness Centre.

The main building was extensively destroyed, while the annexes were saved. There were no visitors in the main building at the time as a small electrical fire had occurred earlier in the day and guests had been moved to the annexes as a precaution.

Police and fire personnel remained on scene throughout the night. Roads around the scene remain closed to public access.
