RCMP investigating collision involving school bus

Lunenburg District RCMP is investigating a collision involving a school bus and a recreational vehicle (RV) that occurred this morning in Lilydale.

At approximately 8:30 a.m. Lunenburg District RCMP responded to a collision on Hwy. 332 at the intersection of Hwy. 3. The investigation determined that the RV failed to stop at the intersection and collided with the bus. As a result of the impact, the bus crossed the road and went into the ditch. EHS responded and assessed the 28 occupants of the school bus. Three passengers were transported to hospital with minor injuries.

The driver of the RV, a 64-year-old man from Nevada was not injured. He was charged with failing to stop at a stop sign.

The investigation is ongoing.
