Watson Lake RCMP has responded to multiple incidents of impaired driving over the last week resulting in arrests and charges being laid.
A 52-year-old Watson Lake man was arrested for driving a boat while impaired on July 14th, 2019 on the Liard River. The boat was impounded under the B.C. Motor Vehicle Act and a charge of Impaired Operation of a Conveyance is pending. He is scheduled to appear in court in Lower Post B.C. on September 12th, 2019.
A traffic stop conducted on July 19th, 2019 resulted in the arrest of a 48-year-old Watson Lake man for impaired driving.
On July 21st, 2019, Watson Lake RCMP conducted a traffic stop where a 24-year-old man provided a breath sample under the new Mandatory Alcohol Screening provision. The result was a fail and resulted in his arrest for impaired driving. Both men are scheduled to appear in court in Watson Lake on August 13th, 2019.
