Two Moncton men pleaded guilty to several charges in Moncton Provincial Court in connection with an investigation into the theft of and from vehicles in Greater Moncton.
On August 24, 2019, police arrested three people and executed search warrants at two residences in Moncton. Police recovered several stolen items and also a stolen vehicle. Since the first of August, Codiac Regional RCMP received more than 55 complaints of thefts from vehicles.
On August 28, 2019, 32-year-old, Joshua Kubu pleaded guilty to possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, possession of break-in instruments, weapons possession contrary to a court order and three counts of failing to comply with a probation order. He was sentenced to four months in jail.
On the same day, Jeremy MacAulay, age 33, pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine, operating a motor vehicle while suspended, resist/obstruct a peace officer and unauthorized possession of a firearm/prohibited weapon or restricted weapon. He was sentenced to time served while in custody awaiting his court appearance, one month of house arrest and fined $500 dollars for the motor vehicle act infraction.
The third person who was arrested, a 30-year-old woman from Moncton, was released with a promise to appear in court at a later date.
