Charges pending in Canning arson

Kings District RCMP has arrested a 19-year-old man and will lay charges related to the arson that occurred on October 6 in Canning. The fire damaged several buildings in the area.

Following an appeal to the public, police learned that Noah Norman of Canning was responsible. On October 8, the RCMP searched his home and arrested him without incident. Norman has been charged with four counts of Arson and one count of Break, Enter, and Commit an Indictable Offence. He was held in custody and appeared in Kentville Provincial Court today. Norman was released by the courts on strict conditions and he is scheduled to return to court on November 5.

The investigation is ongoing. The RCMP would like to thank the public for their assistance with providing tips and information to police about this incident.
