Bay St. George RCMP conduct traffic stops; tickets issued, vehicles towed

At approximately 10:00 p.m. on December 1, 2019, Bay St. George RCMP conducted a traffic stop on Main Street, Stephenville.

The driver, a 23-year-old man from Barachois Brook, was found to be driving while suspended. He was issued tickets for driving without a valid insurance policy, driving while suspended, driving an unregistered vehicle and failing to notify registrar of change of ownership. The man's vehicle was towed and impounded.

At approximately 10:30 p.m. on December 5, 2019, Bay St. George RCMP conducted a traffic stop on the Trans-Canada Highway near St. George's.

The driver, a 30-year-old man from Stephenville Crossing, provided a breath sample below the legal limit but in excess of provincial legislation and was subsequently issued a driving suspension. He also received a ticket for having open liquor in the vehicle. The man's vehicle was towed and impounded.
