On November 1, 2018, at approximately 6:30 p.m., Burin Peninsula RCMP responded to a report of an unconscious man on Ville Marie Drive, near Canada Post.
The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the injured man continues. Officers from the Major Crimes Units, Police Dog Services, Forensics Identification Section, General Investigation Section, Special Operations Support Team and Marystown Detachment continue to work diligently to determine the complete facts surrounding this incident and exactly what occurred to cause the man's injuries.
At this point, there has been no evidence discovered that would cause concern for public safety.
The RCMP would like to thank those who have come forward with information and continue to solicit public assistance on this matter. The public is reminded all information is valuable, no matter how small or seemingly unimportant. Police are encouraging anyone who was in the area of Ville Marie Drive in Marystown between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. on November 1, 2018, to contact the Major Crimes Unit at 709-772-5433. Police also request that anyone with a vehicle dash cam who were at or near the area around the time in question, to please contact police so the footage can be reviewed.
